“Beltane Connections” — Chol Romero-Dungan

Event Details

The celebration of Beltane, May Day, honors life. This is a time to tune into Nature’s tides of strength, growth, and abundance. One way to tap into this energy is with Beltane’s most iconic tradition, the Maypole dance, a celebration of unity. The intertwining of ribbons symbolizes the harmonious union of dualities, life and creation, and all forms of connection. During the message this Sunday we will weave our separate intentions, wishes, and blessings into a ribbon which will then become part of our Maypole. As we dance around the Maypole after the service, we seal our intentions into the weave of the dance. This will be a moment to celebrate the potency of life force and the power of communal intention.
Mark Sunday, May 4 on your calendars for a combination Earth Day/May Day intergenerational blast to celebrate together for one last time before we scatter for the summer! Chol Romero-Dungan will be enlightening us about Beltane (May Day) for our service that morning and we’ll follow it with a picnic, Maypole, plant exchange, yard games, and green exhibits/info. If you want to participate in the Maypole dance, you’ll need to bring a ribbon of at least 15 yards in length . (If you wish, make it your favorite color so that you weave your personality into the dance! More info coming throughout April. Questions? See Jan or Chol.
